History of Ben Wade Covenant Church
Ben Wade Covenant Church began in 1892 as the Ben Wade
Mission House. As early as 1873 several pioneer ministers were visiting this
community. Their purpose was to encourage believers and bring the message of
Gods saving grace to the many unsaved.
In 1892 the mission house was built as a gathering
place for these mission meetings. It was located four miles west of Lowry in
Ben Wade Township.
In 1903 the building was expanded substantially and in
1960 the church was moved to its present location in Lowry where other
additions have been added over the years.
Ben Wade Covenant Church, which belongs to the
Evangelical Covenant Church denomination, has weekly Sunday worship services,
Sunday School for all ages, and Wednesday night Bible studies along with
Covenant Women and youth group activities.
In 2011 Ben Wade Covenant Church changed it name to
Lowry Community Covenant.
Today Lowry Community Covenant Church, which belongs to
the Evangelical Covenant Church denomination, has weekly Sunday worship
services, Sunday School for all ages, and Wednesday Bible studies along with
Covenant Women and youth group activities.
To God be the glory for fruit that has been born in
terms of spiritual life and growth. Be confident of this, that He who
began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus. Philippians 1:6.
